Victoria Beckham Bordeaux Eye Wardrobe: A Comprehensive Review

Today, we are taking a look at one of the most unique quads in my collection, the Victoria Beckham Bordeaux Eye Wardrobe. We’ll cover everything from the actual shade breakdown and texture to an honest wear-test to see if these rich tones hold up throughout a long day.

Victoria Beckham Bordeaux Eye Wardrobe: Real Talk on the Shades

Finding a truly great burgundy eyeshadow palette is surprisingly hard, as most brands tend to play it safe with pink- and- plum- leaning shades.

Thankfully, the Bordeaux palette is a balance of rich wine tones that look modern and editorial in real life.

Inside the refillable compact, you get four ultra-concentrated shades:

  • A shimmering light bronze: An easy, everyday wash of color. I wear this alone multiple times a week.
  • A rich, matte burgundy: The anchor of the palette that pulls the entire look together.
  • A metallic rust with gold sparkle: Best patted directly onto the center of the lid for a quick flash of texture.
  • A deep, matte neutral brown: A solid, versatile shade that doubles perfectly as a smoky liner.

Pro tip: After wearing this palette for about six months, I can report that the shimmer and metallic shades apply as expected but the matte shades are very pigmented. Go light on your first application, you can always add more product to your liking!

Best Eye Colors for Bordeaux

While burgundy is versatile, this specific color story is great for making green and hazel eyes pop, as the red undertones sit directly opposite them on the color wheel. That said, the warmth in the rust and neutral brown shades makes it equally flattering for brown and blue eyes looking for a richer, moodier alternative to standard bronze or gray smoky eyes.

The Bordeaux Palette: How it Looks in Natural Light

In the photo above, I'm wearing all four shades paired with Victoria Beckham's Posh Lipstick in Pout.

While the shimmering bronze and matte shades are incredibly blendable, the rust sparkle—which looks intense in the pan—is surprisingly understated on the eyes. I opted for a deeper, smoked-out application for a night out here, but the palette is versatile enough for casual day looks, too.

Six hours post-application, the intensity has faded slightly, but there is zero smudging. Crucially, the rust glitter has stayed entirely in place with no fallout.

The Best Eyeliner for the Bordeaux Palette

For this look, I paired the shadows with a dark brown eyeliner. However, if you want to keep everything within the same monochromatic color story, Victoria Beckham's Satin Kajal Liner in Bordeaux is a great choice. It shares those same rich, wine-red undertones and would easily amp up the moodiness of the look.

If you value a highly curated, luxury formula and a stunning, sustainable compact that takes up zero space while delivering a complete look, Bordeaux is an absolute standout. It beautifully bridges the gap between effortless everyday makeup and high-glam drama.
